GFI Development News
Going For Independence is developing rapidly, responding to market dynamics and the shifting sands of policy for older and less able people.
We are also working on the following service areas:-
Shopping support services - for equipment and other forms of shopping to support people who need an escort and assistance.
This service will be available for people using their Personal Budgets under Self-Directed Support as well as for people in the community who want an end to end personalised service for accessing equipment and adaptations.
A range of specialist children's services -
Children need a range of therapeutic services tailored to their individual needs to enable them to develop their full potential.
GFI is preparing to offer a range of services, treatments and therapies. Watch this space for more information.
Wellbeing support and training - A service for people who need to practice their skills at home following a stroke or illness, or learn new independent living skills when leaving education.
Services for specialist charities - Going For Independence is well placed as a not for profit organisation to offer a bespoke Occupational Therapy service to specialist charities who want to support their members. GFI is already working with national charities in this regard, providing an ethical alternative to the private sector.
Access to Allied Health Professionals under the GFI umbrella - GFI is now attracting Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists with a social conscience who want to work with an ethical organisation.
The key aim of GFI, underpinning all that we do, is to enable individuals to be able to purchase these services directly when they want them, and when they are not eligible for free services from social services or the NHS.
"If GFI had been around a few years ago we would have had access to a one-stop-shop offering different kinds of therapy services in addition to those available from the state. This would have been so helpful for us and our disabled son."
